I will be at the LMU Center for Advanced Studies in Munich next week to participate at the Cultural Brokers: Nomenclature, Knowledge and Negotiations of (Performance) Agents, Managers and Impresarios (1850-1930) organized by Dr. Nic Leonhardt. I’ll be presenting a draft of my article on the migrant Manila musicians who brokered musical modernities in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries in the Asia Pacific.
